Dear Advocate

Our campaign started with a lot of promise, but we have suffered a setback in our development of the Brain Tumor Awareness Plate. The Commonwealth of Virginia (Transportation Committee) has made the process more difficult to get a plate into production. It takes more than completing an application. A grassroots campaign of this magnitude requires sophisticated legal wrangling, votes, lobbying & of course funding.

However, we have not given up, and are going to request that this bill be re-introduced in January 2008. Prior to that time, we need to collect all 350 prepaid applications. Since the plates are not going into production this year, we did not want to hold onto your money/ application; therefore, accompanying this letter is a refund check and your VA DMV License plate application. We will keep your contact information on file, and contact you in November 2007 to get an updated application. You can also check for updates on our website, www.braintumorawarenessplate.com. Please spread the word to as many people as you know that may be interested. We will also be campaigning at the Race for Hope in DC in May.

We urge you to contact your delegate’s office in Richmond. Please also call Delegate Bob Marshall to express your disappointment. It is time they put the interests of Virginia residents back on the agenda.

In the meantime, if you would like to support research I would like to recommend B.RA.I.N (Brain Resource And Information Network) www.brainsite.org. Yes they are located in Virginia! Let us work together to find a cure.

Thank you for all you have done and for your continued support. Together we can find a cure for brain cancer.

With gratitude,

Dale Q Thomas
